John A. Logan College Health Care Programs

To be admitted to most of the medical programs (Nursing, Medical Laboratory, Occupational Therapy, Surgical Tech, Sonography, etc.)

students must:

· be admitted to the College and have a student id before applying to the program;

· apply to the program before registering for the pre-entrance exam; and

· check email frequently throughout the admission process. Correspondence will only be sent via email.

Each program has different admission criteria, which are in addition to the College’s general admission requirements.  A program application is required for each program, except Nursing Assistant. Complete the application either online in the MyJALC portal or at the Admissions Office (C201) by the deadline date listed on the JALC website. 

A pre-entrance exam is required for each program except Massage Therapy and Nursing Assistant. Instructions on how to register online to take the pre-entrance exam and pay the exam fee by the test registration deadline is listed on the JALC website. There you will be able to view instructions, test dates, registration deadlines, and access the test registration link. 

Current senior students interested in the above programs need to start planning NOW to take the entrance exam.  The exam dates vary among the programs and are listed on the JALC website  https://www.jalc.edu/admissions/restricted-allied-health-admission (If you wait until the end of the school year it will be too late to enroll in the medical programs for next school year.
